Start: Who we are
Who we are
On January 1, 2012, Kutxabank began operations, a bank that emerged from the integration process of the three Basque Savings Banks -BBK, Kutxa and Vital-, the three sole shareholders of the new entity, to which they transferred their financial business.
Kutxabank was founded from a privileged position of solvency, with a diversified balance sheet, a new corporate governance model, and undisputed leadership in the regions where we traditionally operate. We are an institution committed to people and to economic and social development as our primary objective.
Our strategic focus is on a local banking model, and the entities that make up the Group share common processes, policies, and core services, enabling us to achieve economies of scale and sustainable profitability. Our priority is our customers, as we base our business model on close, trusting, and long-term relationships with the individuals and SMEs in our community.
At Kutxabank we maintain our commitment to give back to society part of the recurring profit obtained, through the Social Works that we develop in each of the territories.
