The environment is affected by our activities. To carry them out, we use natural and energy resources that, to a greater or lesser extent, generate impacts on the environment.

At Kutxabank, beyond complying with current legislation, we are committed to developing a proactive attitude in protecting the environment, preventing pollution and environmental degradation, trying to minimize energy consumption and the materials necessary for the exercise of our activity and responsibly managing the waste generated in said performance.

Our model includes three lines of action : Continuously calculating emissions, reducing such emissions as much as possible through improvements in eco-efficiency and the rational use of energy, and capturing carbon from the atmosphere through our forests that act as carbon sinks.

The Kutxabank Group is fully committed to supporting and promoting the decarbonization of the environment in which it operates, and therefore, is determined to implement measures, both in its corporate activities and in its relationships with its clients, with the aim of being a key player in the transition to a low-emission economy based on sustainable growth. The following document sets out the intermediate objectives established by the Group’s Governing Bodies. 

Kutxabank has responded to recommendations made by, among others, the Financial Stability Board’s TCFD Working Group, with the aim of providing the market with an objective and truthful view of its climate risk management . 

The entity is integrating environmental considerations into its business, commercial, and support operations, and addressing environmental risks in its risk management processes.
